FOCHES Membership Statement of Faith and Purpose

 

ARTICLE II -- Statement of Faith 

1. We believe the Bible is God's infallible, inerrantly inspired Word, which reveals the way of salvation, and is the guide for faith and conduct.
2. We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life and His miracles. He endured death on .the cross as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will return again to establish His Kingdom in righteousness and peace.
4. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ.
5. We believe, that as Christian parents, it is our responsibility to educate our children, and that education should be based on Biblical truth and Christian doctrine.
6. We believe in prayer for our children's education.
7. We are a non-denominational organization and, therefore, do not promote any specific denominational doctrine. We do, however, feel that one would have to agree with this statement of faith to become a member.

 

ARTICLE III-- Purpose

 To provide:  

1. Support for each other in our Christian beliefs.
2. Christian support, encouragement and motivation for homeschooling parents and students.
3. Instruction, opportunities and fellowship which would not be possible in individual families (examples: field trips, programs, science fairs, etc )

A standard of excellence in our behavior and academics so that we are a positive influence in our world for Christ and for homeschooling (through our activities, outreach to prospective homeschoolers and support for positive family-oriented legislation.)
